Conference event photography is not a one size fits all proposition. On the technical side, lighting can range from spectacular to almost none at all. And then there’s the blinding hot light that appears on the top of the speakers head. When the speaker roams about the stage it makes for much more interesting images than being behind a podium. The downside is that the lighting is also radically different on different parts of the stage. Light meters even in professional cameras do not do well in getting the optimal exposure for the speaker. It’s best to go old school and know what the settings are for different parts of the stage.
